New Mexico State Game Commission approves mentored youth hunting

New Mexico is now home to a program that encourages youth hunters. New Mexico State Game Commission approved rules last month that will allow youths the opportunity to purchase a mentored youth license for hunting. Morgan likens this program to a driver’s education course. He believes the program will have many benefits for hunting in the future and the outdoors. Mentored youth hunt allows youth to get a taste of the sport before they commit to buying a hunting license.

Those seeking to apply for a mentored youth hunting license must have proof of passing a Hunter Education Course. For both archery and firearm draw hunts in New Mexico, a mentored youth number must be provided. It is essential that all youth hunt with their Mentored Youth Number. Traditional hunter education includes lectures, videos, hands on methods, and reviews. Students below the age of 10 must be accompanied during the course by an adult.

Wisconsin DNR requires a Hunter Education certificate

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has temporarily stopped offering an all-online hunter education course. Online courses will still be available to hunters over 18. DNR says the course is not appropriate for hunters over 18 years old without any hunting experience. The DNR did NOT respond to my message asking for comments about the course. Officials have placed the program on hold as they await state guidelines for in-person instruction.

You can get a hunter's education certificate in many different ways. Traditional classroom classes last at most 10 hours and can be held in many places throughout the year. These courses cost $10 per person and take at least 10 hours to complete. Online courses are also available for those over 18 who don't have the time or desire to take a class in a classroom setting. The course will require quizzes as well as a final exam.

How To

How to hunt wild Ducks

Decoys are the most common method of hunting wild ducks. The best method is to use live decoy birds and set them up at a distance from your blind so you can see them from afar. Windy conditions can cause birds to flee quickly so it is best not to hunt in them. You should also avoid hunting with other hunters as they may scare some birds.

When hunting wild ducks, make sure you know how many birds you want to shoot. Don't shoot if it isn't clear what type of bird they are. You must ensure you have enough ammunition so you can take down as many birds or not.

If you do kill a lot of birds you will need to prepare the meat first. It is best not to wait until the meat is done cooking. Remove any bones or feathers from the meat once it is done.

Wild ducks are often found near water, but sometimes they can be seen flying through fields, woods, and swamps. Because they fly low to ground, it makes them easy targets. When hunting wild ducks, try to stay hidden until you get close enough to make a shot. This means staying quiet and still while waiting for a chance to shoot.
